Merry Medleys

Full warning that Blue Archive is an exploitative gatcha game in all uses of the word exploitative. When Jaffe recommended deleting all your gatcha games, this one was the one that I tossed in the dumpster.

All that can be true and it can also be true that this is an incredibly well-written bubble-gum pop chip-tune earworm. It's the only thing I miss about the game.

Good lord, it’s finally finished.

@“tapevulture”#p64666 Just spent three hours making this “video,” after the audio was already done! Windows Video Editor sucks, Shotcut didn’t work well for my purposes, and so I had to resort to (2015’s version of) iMovie, which is not good in general, and whose title options are accordingly lacking; did the ol’ make-title-cards-in-Preview-one-by-one method. Not making another one of these things until I get a copy of the last good version of Adobe Premiere or something, good grief.

@“captain”#p69419 listened to about half of this today. let me just say to anyone who hasn't listened that this is clearly a labor of love for captain. im taking notes

@“tapevulture”#p70598 listening to these clips over and over two weeks ago is likely what kept it off my submission to the soundtrack poll; i‘m glad it wasn’t for nothing!

Yeah that’s the stuff

i don’t recall what the requirements are for this thread, but here’s the knuckles chaotix medley. i never knew about it because, truth be told, i’ve never played knuckles chaotix.

@“pasquinelli”#p110758 just looking for abridged soundtracks to games so they aren’t 6000 hours long or full of sound effects/chaff. a companion piece to your post:

There unfortunately isn‘t one of these on Youtube for Order of Ecclesia. Wishing I’d thought of it before October

Come back to me, O Merry Medley:

I like the music in Metroid Prime 2 but there’s never been an official release of it: all of what you can download (and consequently what is compiled on Youtube) is sourced from rips of the game’s sound files, which is to say it’s never been properly sequenced. Fans uploading the music to Youtube take this for granted and so all the OST uploads are 3 hours long—certain tracks loop too many times, many tracks are duplicates, and there’s a huge amount of time given to mostly unintresting ambient tracks.

I am not uniquely qualified for this task, I’m no professional, but it came out sounding good (better than it looks). I removed a few tracks which were either slight remixes of tracks from the first Prime or which otherwise differed so little from other tracks in the game that it didn’t make sense to include them.
