I’m going to order one once the cheaper boards come out. I’ve been wanting one for ages.
Guncon 3 is also a good choice, but it looks like Mister Addons replica emitters aren’t in stock right now
From the looks of it, it’ll be pretty soon.
Personally I can’t wait for the handheld, the fact that it’s supposed to be dockable is so cool. Or at least I’d conform with a save file transfer utility between my main mister and the handheld or something like that.
I should wait for the handheld but apparently the flagship MiSTer console is going to portable (as in, it has a built-in screen and a battery so you can play it on the go with a controller)
It sounds very unnecessary, but also delightful, especially if I’m correct in inferring from his banter with people in the replies that it’s made to resemble a small PVM
Thank you!
That’s neat, I’m glad it exists, but what a bad logo.
got one. will report back once it arrives
Missed out by a minute. Was out to dinner and had just handed my card off when it went live . Will be ready for the 8AM drop.
I will be joining the Mister family at a later date when the Taki Mister has another batch. There have been no reported issues yet in the Youtube videos, but I would like the hype to die down some and have people spend some time with it before I take the plunge on what is really just a hyped up bootleg.
I have an Analogue Pocket but the promise of PS1 Saturn and N64 currently and CPS3 and other various arcade cores in the future is too strong. I am currently downloading anything and everything off of Archive I can get in the meantime (especially if archive will be changing soon)
I think my Analogue Pocket will become solely for travel. I can always transfer saves if I need to, to continue gaming on the road
I got a Taki MiSTer too - if I can get some quiet time maybe I’ll make a video
snagged one, stoked to go exploring with it.
I agree that Mister’s promises look tempting, but it’s always better to wait for confirmation.
I was lucky enough to snag one this morning while waiting at the airport lmao \o/
Really excited to hook this up to my cabinet set up for neo geo and cps2 games
So as part of turning the Mister in to a system to use for events (we got a few from Taki) I had to figure out how to lock the system down as much as possible.
Step one, is obviously turn off the menu button on the controller, and then have the system hidden inside something (either monitor stand or a large arcade controller) so that the physical OSD button can’t be pressed. But then how to have the user pick games? I realized they could do this with the Tapto functionality. But then how to let users know to do that?
So I built a .gb rom in GBstudio (the first “game” I have ever made) to have the Mister autoboot to with some on screen signage
This is all in the early phases as the Taki boards and the Tapto boards should arrive to the lab next week. But I will post updates in the thread.
I’m planning on upgrading my kid’s NFC retropie to a TapTo MiSTer and did the initial setup and it’s very easy to use and add new games. There is a script for TapTo that lets you map the NFC cards, so it’s as simple as picking a game and tapping the card to assign it.
Probably going to use this PC Engine style shell for the reader too:
