@“TracyDMcGrath”#p104275 You do actually have to put it in the form there
For the record I have no intention of nominating it, the good people of the forums need to come to **GOD HAND** on their own terms

Despite this, I wholeheartedly agree with it being nominated. Bless you @BoldOblique
tradegood broke the table! D:<
lol whoops… i think i took the book club aspect a little too seriously
I think this is a very fun idea! The Racketboy forums used to do something like this. I‘ve been MIA lately but am definitely interested in participating (though I can’t guarantee every month)
I'll have to think about what to nominate…
I love this idea. I don't have anything to nominate but I am pretty interested in this!
I thought of a nomination: Mega Man Legends (Rockman Dash) for PS1
It's a game in my backlog that has an extremely good aesthetic style and looks substantial enough to provide things to talk about. And even though it's part of a long series, it seems like it stands alone from everything that came before it.
Some other styles of games that I think could be fun going forward: arcade-style games where we can compare high scores/strategies or adventure games and we could try to rely exclusively on other forum members for solutions to puzzles rather than going to GameFAQs. Not sure how well that will play out in the real world, but in my mind they could make for good group-gaming discussions!
Man I just realized I could have done Lun Calsari's The Way instead and that would have been a hell of an experience
@“IncompatibleKaiser”#p105614
You‘re the first person I’ve ever seen mention The Way besides the person who showed it to me!
Lun Casari sent me his novel after I asked him for it but it wasn't very good and I still feel bad for not finishing it.
@“edward”#p105617 probably cause games are books except better
@“IncompatibleKaiser”#p105618
Interestingly, his book was structured like a game. It probably would have been a fun game, since it had the characters going to a lot of wacky worlds.

@“Nemoide”#p105610 I thought of a nomination: Mega Man Legends (Rockman Dash) for PS1
_Megaman Legends_ goes so hard... ~~20~~_25_ years later I still associate it most prominently with that chunky low poly PS1 aesthetic that is having a little bit of a moment right now with _Signalis_ and _Bloodborne Kart._ A sterling example of a game using the technical limitations of its platform to its advantage.

@“Nemoide”#p105610 adventure games and we could try to rely exclusively on other forum members for solutions to puzzles rather than going to GameFAQs.
This would rule for my pick
Inspired by @“sabertoothalex”#360 and @“treefroggy”#449, I nominated Animal Crossing (the first game). People can post pictures of their villages. People playing on their gamecubes can mail their memory cards back and forth. I assume it's also possible for people using emulators to share their save files.
As a more general note, a lot of the nominations so far are very much in the spirit of a book club: games with substance that would be interesting to talk about as you work through them. That's great, but I think another usage of a game club on this forum could be multiplayer experiences that it would be difficult to naturally arrange in the year 2023 outside of this forum. Thus my nomination of Animal Crossing. There is a whole world of other games along these lines for others to nominate!

@“saddleblasters”#p105666 People playing on their gamecubes can mail their memory cards back and forth.
I would do this.
@“saddleblasters”#p105666 if we got into a group playing animal crossing, wether on gamecube, n64, Japan or US, it would be a major wish fulfillment for me. Yes, emulator and memory card saves are both easy enough to send back and forth. Also it is easy enough to transpose memory card saves from hardware to emulator and visa versa, I’ve been doing it for years specifically for animal crossing. I have been utilizing the animal crossing hacks available since 2005, when I soldered for the first time it was to hack wild world, I was in middle school.
Nowadays there are easy to use utilities to turn jpegs into animal crossing patterns. That’s just one example of how far we’ve come since 2005.
And for that matter, I still haven’t linked with any IC peeps over New Horizons either.
I haven‘t played New Horizons in about a year and don’t really want to play it again, but I'd play it just to make treefroggy happy.

I would do anything for @treefroggy 🎵
I would do anything for @treefroggy 🎵
I would do anything for @treefroggy 🎵
🎵But I won't do that 🎵
(not a dedicated hater or anything, I just don't have it)
I am afraid to load up my AC:NH save, my town has probably turned entirely derelict by now.
I love this idea and have been trying to think of a game to nominate for a while now. I can't decide between "game I love that I'd like others to play" and "game I haven't played yet and this is a good excuse to do so".
@“rejj”#p105757 every time anyone says anything about animal crossing or assassins creed and uses the abbreviation I get momentarily excited that someone is talking about armored core
and then I get sad
