@dracula and @tomjonjon speaking truth.
The cross media bar represents a device giving you control with a simple intuitive interface.
PS4 did away with the XMB not because it's better, but specifically because it is worse. lol
XMB FO LIFE!!!!!!!!

@“treefroggy”#p75593 the PS4 interface feels like a dumbing down of XMB simply to be able to display more ads. Less utility for the user; more transactional opportunity for Sony.
@“tomjonjon”#p75597 and the PS5 interface is 10x worse about this exact thing. Big splashy ad images>>>making anything that is nice to use.

First @“Herb”#876 PSP restore complete!
This one’s for someone else
The PSP motherboard is so small… like 25% of the footprint of the entire fantastic device.
edit: btw forgot to mention that it had at least one live spider and 1 fossilized indiscriminate larvae inside.
@“treefroggy”#p81044 Gross, sorry for your find. I‘m flat embarrassed. I’ve never had issues with bugs in electronics or bugs in general before. I guess I need to be mindful of that, because I‘m living in the South now and there’s all kinds of creepy crawlers around.
That thing looked like the original owner ran it through a chipper, but it's looking spiffy now.
I’ve seen everything, @Herb , this ain’t my first Game Bug. Consider it a blessing rather than a curse.

That was a lot of work. The 3000 needed a lot of extra TLC and I had my doubts about it. The lcd screen has scratches that are invisible while powered on. These aftermarket shells are cheap and the black one didn’t have proper screw holes so it’s a miracle I got it together. Both are now working and next I’m gonna hack them.
edit: wow hacking PSP's got a lot easier since the last time I did it.... which was like 2008 lol. Brandish the Dark Revenant is awesome.
Black 3000 is going to be my main going forward.

My dual PSP build has come to a close. Thanks one last time to @Herb for sending me two PSP's with perfectly good internals in need of some external TLC!
I FORGOT that one big draw to the PSP 3000 for me is that you can play games on a CRT in 480i, the 2000 *required* 480p and could only do the home menu in 480i.
I've got only a handful of ISO's left in my collection, and over the years I've lost all my save data... So it's now time to build again, and remember all those games I still wanna play....

EEE (every extend extra) is an ICG (insert credit game) that even inserted creditors may not enjoy fully, but I certainly do! I may not be remembering correctly but I think someone on the show mentioned it once and said it‘s just “alright” or something. Personally it’s one of my favorite weird little games and I've spent countless hours playing it!
The original freeware pc version is also sick, used to play it on school computers in high school in mid 00’s!

@“Syzygy”#p81383 didnt say anything about the Go cause I don’t know or care much about the PSPG. All I know is 2k cannot but 3k can. And yeah it does function like super gameboy or gameboy player without borders, it doesn’t fill the CRT screen but still looks great. That is, games don’t fill the screen. XMB sure does.
that game's cover art made for a nice wallpaper

What game is this? I'm gonna guess some kind of Wizardry game
@“Personasama”#p81394 I believe that is Brandish

@“Syzygy”#p81383 I will look into this as I have all the models. Though I mostly just run my 2 consolized (because they were broken) PSPGOs through the Tink 2XM and the the Tink 5x. The 5x being the best as I can scale the little windowed screen (which always bugged me).

@“treefroggy”#p81389 EEE (every extend extra)
I tried this game again after getting my Vita a while ago and realized my memories of it had been fully eclipsed by E4 on Xbox. Still largely the same game, and one that I love, but there are some particulars to how it handles that were just a little more easy to grasp somehow.

@“treefroggy”#p81389 EEE (every extend extra)
I don't have a ton of games from the last 20 or so years that I associate very strongly with a specific point in time, but I vividly recall playing EEE endlessly on a trip to visit family in the winter of 2006-7. It's a heck of a game!
@“Personasama”#p81394 are these in-game portraits Jun Suemi‘s work or someone else’s?
@“Syzygy”#p81432 thanks! Couldn't find much from googling anyone but Suemi, except this potter and this conceptual artist who are probably different Tomokos from those listed.
