Is there an option in Discourse to let posters like their own posts?

On a technical level no, and they’ve said no plans to bring it in. What’s the reason you would want to, in case maybe there’s a work around we can think of to help?
Or just use those likes for other awesome posts like yours

Not sure if this is known so I will make a note of it here:
When you click on a thread with a lot of new posts and start scrolling down, if you play a video, stop it or just finish watching it, then keep scrolling, after a while the audio from the video starts playing again, and the only way to fix it is refreshing the page. Not a big deal but kind of annoying, specially with music threads.

The functionality to see all of the posts from a single user within a topic seems to be broken for me on mobile (tested in Firefox and Chrome on Android 15).
When I click on the “X posts in topic” button, it seems to hide all posts.

This is an issue that has appeared in the past. Checking the discourse forum they have had it before, applied fixes and the problem has returned.
In the past week there have been a lot of updates to parts of Discourse, including a critical one and this and any other problems may be part of it. I’ll keep my eyes out and if it doesn’t fix in a couple of days again, will reach out on their forum if no one else has brough this up.

It’s broken on desktop as well. I didn’t even know that feature existed! I would only click on someone’s profile expecting to be directed there or to see their avatar better.

Very odd this one. I did a test using this url:
which acts as the button would and came up blank as well. However using the search bar did work as normal:
Again, and sorry for it sounding like a cop out, may be worth waiting a few days to see if any big updates changed something and caused this problem. I’ll check every few hours for updates, and if it’s not during peak US times run them when I can, to see if this and the video playback issue sort themselves out.
Edit - One thing to note is the filter is recognising the amount of posts in the topic, such as with the screen grab with tombo, but can’t display them. Had a check and haven’t found this issue anywhere, there was an update a few hours ago and there’s a few new commits already since then, so will run it tomorrow morning CET, check what’s being updated and see.

I’ve run a couple of updates, could you check @tombo to see if it changed the video playback issue please?
@Death_Strandicoot - the filtering issue isn’t fixed. I’ll give it a day and if nothing during an update tomorrow will go to discourse directly and see what they say.

Yup, still happening. To replicate it, you just have to click on a thread where there are so many unread posts that it doesn’t load all of them, play a video, pause it. scroll down, and after it loads new posts below, the sound from the video above plays again.

Edit: Ok, I can’t replicate it twice in a row, but I swear it just happened with that post, strange.

Did it only happen with posts you haven’t read yet? I tried replicating it myself the way you described, both on phone and desktop and wasn’t able to do it. Only thing I can think of is it’s a behaviour which happens with unread posts in a topic - but as you had read them it didn’t trigger that time.

Yup, just confirmed it with the heavy music thread. When the video played is part of unread messages, it happens, but if you refresh the page and do the same action with the same video, the issue doesn’t appear. You can probably replicate it with any of the music threads.

Have posted on the discourse forum about this one, as I’ve looked around and cannot find this issue mentioned. We’re running a pretty stock version of it, with only a few plugins behind the scenes but nothing that should be causing a conflict with the filtering.

Thanks for checking. I don’t really have any unread posts anymore (mod hat on there) so could be why I couldn’t replicate it. I did find this on the forum: Paused/finished YouTube videos automatically start playing when scrolling up far enough to load new posts - Bug - Discourse Meta but it says it’s fixed and has been for a while, just the closest one to this problem.
There is an update due, but will run it CET AM so after that, try again and see. If nothing I’ll post again to see if there’s a new problem with it as this did work before.

And it works again. Not entirely sure what it was causing the issue but I disabled a theme component we were not using and behold.
This was fixed by magic
