@“captain”#p34978 these ads were ALL OVER in the lead-up to the PS1’s release (at least in my neck of the woods, northeastern US) and really fit with the general “edgy” tenor of 90s video game advertising. I specifically remember some giant posters or standees prominently displayed in my local KB Toys. This lame rebus puzzle of an advertising campaign mostly annoyed me, but as a Saturn owner I was already primed to be a hater lol.
Anyway, to avoid turning this into another terrible video game ads thread, another favorite is whenever the renowned philosopher “Thelastophus” is referenced on the show. I’ve been listening to a lot of older episodes lately and I’m glad @exodus is honoring and perpetuating the legacy of horribly excellent misreadings.
