@“marurun”#p132061 southwest pa close enough?
@“antillese”#p132060 you could also all go see Frank's jaguar museum together at the show itself??
@“exodus”#p132089 Oh that’s part of the plan.
@antillese later friday night would be cool for me, but it‘s not a huge deal. i went and got myself a job so my schedule is a little fussy but i should be able to make anything after 8. idk when we’re doin‘ the VGHF dinner but if it’s like last year it shouldn‘t matter. we could always try Spirit again! if the weather is nice we could probably truck up to the Revolution Hall rooftop or something, Sandy Hut ain’t too far neither.
@yeso wanna meet me at Sven and Ole's in a few weeks
@“Gaagaagiins”#p134698 I do indeed want to but am not able to, my friend. Might make an SHT or another Isle Royale trip at some point though and we'll work something out then I expect!

Hell yes, would definitely be the most ambitious insert credit forum crossover of all time...
I was mostly asking half as a joke knowing that getting to that neck of the woods is way more complicated for you than it is for me. Last night I won a copy of _Asura's Wrath_ on eBay, and I'm getting it shipped to a place on the border to save a bit of money + somethin' to do on a weekend afternoon. Then I google maps'd how far away Chicago (...which is roughly where you're at, right? I have a poor grasp on American geography enough already but I also for some reason think you're in Pennsylvania or something) is from there, and discovered/remembered you're up against a whole entirely different Great Lake from there! Funny how that works.
But yeah, keep me at least half abreast if you do that, if we're still in Thunder Bay when you are perhaps we can observe Moose Madness together.
I am meeting up with Jason Della Rocca and Rami Ismail in Kortrijk Belgium on October 12th, I am open to meeting with annyone else there too
@“antillese”#p132060 I‘m going to make it this year! I’d prefer meeting up on Saturday, but Friday can work also.
@“RubySunrise”#p134792 I‘m so excited you’re going to come! I know you!
I'm in the process of closing on some of the details. We'll be doing a Friday 9 PM evening happy hour thing featuring "Big Skee Ball" as well as an at show "not a flash mob" event where the IC-adjacent community calmly and respectfully visit the VGHF's Atari Jaguar exhibit. At-show meetup time is still being planned as I'm waiting to see some of the other scheduled events and reconcile that with my own family commitments that weekend.
Hey hi it‘s me. I’m helping to host a meetup at the Portland Retro Gaming Expo and I need a headcount for Friday. This will be helpful for both establishing where we‘ll go and also getting a “vibe check”. If there’s only a few of us - delightful! We‘ll go somewhere smaller and quieter and enjoy each other’s company. If it‘s a larger group, we’ll go to a place that can accommodate that. Please let me know if you‘re going to come either by posting here or DM or in Discord or whatever depending on your own needs for privacy on the internet. Hope to see a few people I’ve seen and hope to meet some new friends too!
@“deepspacefine”#p132064 Why don‘t y’all meet in the middle in my neck of the woods (central Ohio)
I heard this ad spot on the radio today for the Portland Retro Gaming Expo Hangout. Y‘all should listen to it. Then if you’re going to come to the PRGE meetup, please let me know.
||I intended to do this in a more formal way and buy a friend of the show ad spot and put it in the podcast, but the rest of my life prevented that from happening. There's always next year.||
@“antillese”#p136043 ah shoot, if you‘d told us we would’ve just put it in - we owe you for all the mod stuff anyway!!
@“exodus”#p136046 Very kind, but unnecessary. And I didn‘t actually get around to doing this little project until today at lunch time because of all the other stuff going on in my days. I’ll plan for it better next year.
But when you stop to think about it, I am the real hero here and should be compensated specifically by @espercontrol because she didn't have to listen to this and get physically ill editing my bad sound quality. Hey Esper: wanna know how I mixed it? I didn't! I did two takes shouting into PlayStation 5 headphones and just let the levels rock! (I forgot to mute the audio when "Frank" is talking. Please imagine I did that.)
@“antillese”#p136049 no that's pretty much how i do it too
@“antillese”#p135819 oops I just saw this now. I'll be there!
# Insert Credit-Adjacent/Gaiden Hangout Details
Friday the 13th at 9 PM at "Low Bar" 724 E Burnside St, Portland, OR 97214. They have beer and drinks and food and pinball. They don't have a website, but [they do seem to have an active Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/lowbar_pdx/?igshid=OGQ5ZDc2ODk2ZA%3D%3D). There's probably going to be about a half-dozen of us and some of your Forum Friends are trying to twist the arms of specific IC panelists who will be in town to come too. Hope to see you there!
Attention all residents of the Los Angeles Area
Come kick it at Cyclavia today!!!
Uhh I don‘t normally do bars & breweries, but that is changing as of late.
Yesterday I went to another freecycling event where we rode bicycles on the arroyo seco parkway, and my friends decided to end the day at a brewery’s grand opening…. which coincidentally happened to be one block from where I've been staying….
So now there's a comfy brewery a block from me, if anyone is more of a normal, brewery-going adult (unlike me) and would be more comfortable hanging in such a location, I'm always down!

My review: as someone who **knows** this neighborhood, someone who only rides a bicycle, knows the laundromats, rite aide, gets all my mail from the UPS store, and serves the homeless community, this place and the block it's on is a trip and a half. A bougie little zone in the hood. You can see the signature fashion district women's clothing strip malls across the street from the patio. Yet walking in here you'd think you were on abbot kinney blvd. There's a stench of gentrification to it, but it's not technically gentrification at all, so I don't know why I'm saying that.
There are other locals there, including born & raised natives, good times were had by all. Lots of room for activities, we can definitely set up board games or whatever, they have a shelf with all the staples for breaking the ice. Might get a D&D or MtG group together here.
the beer is good and reasonably priced I guess. (I spent $40 which is insane to me haha. Got reasonably tipsy)
there’s some classy resturaunts in the plaza.
