I get it, extra character models in their socks would just eat up development time and disc space. Counterpoint: such a dirty habit. Take your shoes off before going to bed.
But seriously are there examples of video game characters sleeping naturally or do all of them sleep on top of the sheets wearing the same clothes theyve had on all day? I can only recall doing this once for my job when they put me up in a roacher motel when I had to travel for storm work, so maybe video game beds are just disgusting?
@yeso
I haven’t played the witcher 3 and recently became asexual semi(?)permanently but I feel like someone on the team had to be aware of the demand for this service. You can decide to do it in cyberpunk if you care at all.
it’s true, CDPR is aware and messing with people about feet lol
@sabertoothalex that dumb “bedroom” did bother me tbh because it’s not even a room, it’s basically outdoors. It probably drops down to 30 degrees at night. Makes no sense
This is from Growlanser VI (which I haven't played (yet)). Very much the classic “just plop the character model exactly as it is when standing or otherwise functioning game-normally on top of the totally un-interactable bed.” Love it.
there is a gross patch on our sofa where that person who lives with me has absent-mindedly put their feet up while shod with gross slippers/house shoes the very purpose of which is to avoid this kind of nonsense
anyway, there's a fair amount of shoes under the covers in old spritey games
((You all already know this but I'm itching to say it: I think shoes are a perfect example of the idea that video games are best enjoyed with a childlike imagination, especially with RPGs where you hop into bed a lot. Even in 3D games though: when a character goes to bed fully clothed, you should close your eyes and imagine them all comfy-womfy, skivvied down, and crawling into their bed.))
