This fan is so hardcore, they made period-accurate packaging too for themselves and their friend?? Thatās so cool. I wonder if theyāre excited to hear about the GG Mini now.
Also they said their favorite GG game was Woody Pop. Looking it up, the results are tragic.
Because I found myself looking through old photos, here's a hidden Sonic I found in Akiba (bonus Sega Gals Collection Arle). It was not for sale, sadly.
this is a bit rough to watch because of youtuber-ness, but hereās a sega-sponsored game show Iād never heard of that had a portuguese variant that I had even more extremely never heard of:
@billy#3138 Well it is true and not true at the same time, the GG can have more variations of the same color to choose from but lacks the ability to show the amount of colors the MD can at the same time. It also lacked the speed and hardware to overcome the technical limitations it had.
For example a game gear could never(this homebrew tv GG can because REASONS) exceed its resolution limits since well that is the screen it has. Yet on the MD for Sonic 2 they went from 240p to 480i for the split screen versus races and essentially used a resolution setting the MD did not technically possess.
I am going to show you something Sega that I am shocked pretty much nobody has watched. This nice and slightly random interview of Nagoshi by one of the members of Japanese boys band Exile Tribe.
https://youtu.be/-Ty8I3Gh-nY
It goes surprisingly in depth on some topics, features two relatively famous people, is entirely subbed in English (professionally) yet somehow the most watched video (part one above) racked up below five thousand views on Youtube in about a year. What the fuck?
https://youtu.be/6jVV6f7ZtbM
I get why sites such as Siliconera and Gematsu did not report on this as Otaquest seems (seemed?) to be a startup trying to get into their territory, but I am really surprised such content did not find a bigger audience via forums and SNS over time, right at the moment Yakuza was getting big in the US.
https://youtu.be/Zm9DHnP2RoA
Anyway itās a cool interview and you should watch it if you like anything Sega.
Iām finally watching these, and theyāre definitely interesting! Seeing lots of cool stuff and also lots of regressive stuff (you can't make yakuza while focusing on the female audience is a classic example of āwomen are like X and like Y thingsā which results in like⦠barbie horse adventure or whatever).
Worth watching all through I'd say!
I like the bit in the 2nd video where he talks about how Kiryu is limited in terms of what he can do or say, and because of that they were neglecting their other main character, the city of Kamurocho, and how it could expand, and that's why they made Judgment. Frankly I don't think they expanded it that much, and Judgment is my least favorite game in the series, but I think the point about the setting being limited by its characters is a good one.
From a Saturn forum Iām on, here are three flyer scans, two of which Iād never seen before (I think the first and third are australian? even though they say sega UK. maybe they used the same flyers. the 2nd is a US flyer I believe.)
the third one actually has quite nice - or at least interesting - design to it. they seemed to be able to use more artwork than most of these flyers had access to.
I am pretty sure these are all Sega of Europe pamphlets. (And specifically printed for the UK market.) It's possible that they have been used in Australia as well since they use the European electric standard and have often relied on European hand-me-down materials, especially in those times.
I guessed it was hand-me-downs, yeah. I was going to argue against the 2nd one being european since they used sega.com, but they do call soccer football, and advertise formula karts, so⦠you're clearly correct!
