Went to Wisconsin for the week and went to House on the Rock. Itโs a weird estate built but an eccentric billionaire largely in the mid century containing a lot a make believe objects. It was too dark to take good pictures but itโs kind of a Disney world for a loon.
Iโve been here! Took a road trip up from Chicago with my partner - we were some of the only people there when we went through and it still feels like a dream in my memory. Iโve never seen anything else like it, the scale and density of it is staggering.
Itโs featured in Neil Gaimanโs American Gods so we listened to the audio book on the drive and it definitely added to the sense of fantasy while we explored.
yeah very strange place. And Taliesin being like minutes away makes for a funny contrast. History then farce etc
Oh funny. I didnโt know that
Yeah! A friend who hasnโt been was very familiar with it when I told her I was going there.
Nietzsche performing the late 19th century equivalent of Kearney using a fake ID to buy beer.
โSo we are playing an authentic low-fantasy medieval campaign. What is everyoneโs characterโs name?โ
โBoso Breakspeare.โ
โHaha, very funny. Seriously, what -โ
Recorded the cicadas on a dog walk this evening. Stay tuned for katydid nights.
After hearing cicadas for an extended period my brain morphs my tinnitus into cicadas sounds for a while
I donโt want to see that movie but I know somehow Iโm going to find myself watching it.
I will say I am glad these people can keep making the movies they want to make even though - while directly targeting me in terms of audience - I strongly dislike their movies every time. With the exception of The Void, which I did like, but apparently everyone involved hated so they will never do that again. Honk.
Thatโs good to know! I havenโt seen any of the movies these people have produced. Iโm just amazed someone made a movie based on a 1800 number commercial.
There is a place for everything but it is a bit dismaying that we are making indie movies about commercials.
I will never get over the geico cave men commercials that was turned into a tv series.
