@âtomjonjonâ#p149658 Itâs a word that wasnât even in my vocabulary until about 4 years ago, when I saw the âno windrowsâ sign by the school near my house!
@âKarasuâ#p149656 yeah, thank you for giving a name to the pain of having a plow add to the snow you need to shovel on its way past your house. I thought I had a better photo of this but there was one day a few months before I moved out of my parentsâ house, when I still didnât have a place lined up, when the snowfall was so immense that I felt more trapped than usual. It's not a good feeling. Winter can be hard to enjoy under such circumstances.
>!
It felt pretty defeating at the time.
@âconnrrrâ#p149670 Oof wow, that is a lot of snow! We typically donât get anywhere near that amount, but still, when itâs that extremely grey compacted stuff from the street itâs super intimidating! Iâm really hoping the city will come and cart it all away like they do most years, but they've usually done that as part of the plowing in the first place, soâŠ. who knows? Not me!

Sorry, I'm so worried about someone here acting on this recommendation that I've been meaning to amend it for days. These are TRASH on water or ice. Dangerous, even. I've worn two different pairs of LPs and besides the really unreliable sizing the "maxtrac" material they use for the outsole is so slick I don't know how I haven't slipped and killed myself actually running in these during the winter. I didn't appreciate how poor the traction was on these until I moved to a different shoe (Altra Olympus 5âthey are so ugly but I don't know of another zero drop shoe maker with wide toeboxes and a midsole). Listen to me: if anyone is thinking of picking up a pair of trail shoes specifically for winter weather, get something with vibram or another good sticky outsole rubber instead of these things.
Anyone here in Cape Breton?

@âconnrrrâ#p151834 oh b'y
Just as I was about to text someone telling them Iâm never going to trust their weather forecasts ever again, it started snowing. Itâs a few hours late, but that gave me time to get home from work before it started. Wa hoo.
It has now stopped. I was promised 3-7cm, but looking out there, you wouldn't even know it snowed at all.
EDIT: It's snowing again.
We got about 25cm in the last 48 hours and youâd think itâs never snowed before in central Alberta from the way everyone was driving this morning!
I guess this is what happens when you have the warmest January on record followed by actual snow.
60 in Wisconsin right now with a chance of snow and temps around 25 this evening. I hate this winter. (I love snow)
Three days ago: 50°, not a flake of snow to be seen.
Today:

@â[unknown]â#p159303 Same over here, although, it looks like you got more snow than we did.

The bad news is that the weather alert is saying it might keep snowing until Wednesday! But the good news is that it's been mostly hovering around freezing, and when I shoveled the driveway earlier today, it was actually melting, even though it's very much overcast.
I hope I get some snow pics at snoqualmie pass :o)
Weâve had a really strange March: itâs that yoyo weather where itâs unseasonably warm for a few days, followed by multiple days of snow that eventually ends up sticking but really mostly makes a mess, followed by a few unseasonably warm days, and so on. You all see what I mean. So today itâs supposed to be around 10C/50F and sunny, BUT tonight itâs supposed to rain, and then snow, and weâll allegedly get 2-4cm of snow tomorrow? Oh! And then back up above freezing by the weekend. It's weird!
But the end result is that we get multiple complete melts, and tons of [snow mold](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snow_mold), which I've learned I'm horribly allergic to! It's a blast!
