The playlist is only 2 files, but I have a few that are currently being processed by Google Drive that are slightly longer; one‘s some footage of racing and the other is a Special Treat (I couldn’t come up with a clever backconym since it has X in it).
Follow the instructions about a Tampermonkey script being necessary when you see this pop-up:
If everyone‘s cool with the Google Drive route, the underlying file has to be shareable/viewable, so you’ll be able to click through and download the file. That said, I might need to transcode the video if it isn't an mp4, but first I need to get my hands on the file anyway.
@phone I was able to get the extension installed and the cytu.be vids work but the tampermonkey site mentions “userscripts”? Is there a specific one everyone would need to grab for the streaming on top of the extension?
@Unbeknownst2U If you installed Tampermonkey and then clicked install on something else, and the videos are working for you, you've installed the Google Drive userscript successfully.
I had scheduled a watch-along with some other friends in conjunction with this one and we went ahead and did it Friday evening.
I had never seen that movie before, and I don't think I'll ever see anything like it again. It is just out there in terms of it being so abstracted from the source material. It's totally unrecognizable. The production design is crazy in the best possible way. The Max Headroom vibe is certainly there. My favorite touch is the cars that all have the contacts for overhead power lines.
The new cut with added footage reminds us why the footage is often cut in the first place. The restoration was neat, but the content itself didn't add anything. Mostly longer establishing shots and transitions. Luigi drives for longer, etc.
Highly recommended to watch it once and wonder how that got made and how it has the name Mario Bros on the tin.
I've had that Cytube test stream going for a while, and I have it staged and ready to go if people wanna go the Cytube route for a simultwatch situation.
