This is not my first rant on this so Iām just putting it here. The idea that original gba hardware is unacceptable on its own being seemingly unanimously accepted is a cancer.
Originals GBAs have become like one hundred dollars a pop even in poor condition, if you can even find one. dudes are just en masse gutting them for the motherboards to put into Chinese replica shells with ips screens and resell to make a quick buck. How much profit are they making anyway like $20?
Then if theyāre not a screwup who throws it away they put the oem shell+screens up for sale separately or together. The oem shells+screens sell for $15/$20. That means these motherboards are worth like $80. Shells and screens separate are $15 each also.
Idunno I just think this is insane. Itās driving me nuts trying to find anything for a decent price right now.
Tried to explain trap shooting to my new therapist via a duck hunt reference, but on asking if he knew what the original Nintendo console was, he asked, ādo you mean the Nintendo 64?ā
The 20th century produced all sorts of weird guys; or maybe you need to meet a certain threshold of weirdness to qualify for being an intellectual, for better or for worse. See, for example:
In Lyon, Deleuze invited Lacan for a cocktail at his home. On arrival, Lacan refused all alcohol. Ten minutes later, he said he wanted to rest and was taken back to his hotel. At dinner, āLacan ordered a bottle of vodka and downed half of it.ā Deleuze flattered him, declaring his visit to Lyon a great day. āAfter a moment, Lacan answered churlishly, saying something rather enigmatic: ānot like thatā. So Deleuze didnāt say another word.ā After the lecture, Lacan then announced that he wanted to end the evening at Deleuzeās house, where he ālaunched into paranoid recriminations against everyone wanting to steal his ideasā.
Also as a man about town yesterday I spoke to two different strangers about video games. and both of them ended up calling me a video game hipster because I donāt like fortnite or over watch.
Nookmis passed late last night, she was surrounded by love and family and was smiling and laughing pretty much right up until she was getting those good good opioids every hour. She went out like the realest one she was and the indigenous cultural team at the hospital she was at did a phenomenal job with her and us.
I cut my hair off and Iām going to donate it somewhere. Legit looking like Charlize Theron rn except I have an even better hairline
I just remembered my quitting app, and Iām coming up on 4.5 years since I quit smoking.
Havenāt had a cig since then and havenāt had any desire, though I still enjoy the smell whenever I come across it on the street. Iām relieved I never used a vape for nicotine ā something about the increased accessibility of those makes their addiction potential even scarier to me.
I quit right around the time that concerns around COVIDās potential started to circulate, a serious pulmonary pandemic and a drastic shift in associated routines was enough to finally get this attempt to stick.
