Hi all!
Not trying to be promoting (especially since I don’t get any money from doing this), but have y’all taken a look at The Between RPG? It’s in its final week of crowdfunding, and I’m really excited about it. I’m a big fan of The Gauntlet’s other games, like Brindlewood Bay and Public Access, and I think The Between is gonna be sick af.
I think the folks over at the gauntlet have come up with a really novel mechanic for running satisfying mysteries, and based on what I’ve read The Between looks like it opens up the simple whodunnit of Brindlewood Bay into a myriad of possibilities.
The main conceit of the mystery system is that there’s no “canon” solution, rather the solution is determined by the players theorizing based on the clues gathered, meaning it takes in all the context from actual play vs being prescribed. In Brindlewood Bay, this has led to some pretty great twists and satisfying conclusions.
I don’t really play TTRPGs, just listen to an actual play podcast, but that does sound really cool!

brindlewood bay and public access are what sparked me getting back into TTRPGs (D&D bloat was waaayyy too much). The rules are so much more focused on just telling fun and interesting stories over doing math and balancing 100 different mechanics.
