Charli is a great choice for coolest thing. Love this for you.
I recently got a vita, which can only mean itās time to play a psx rpg. I havenāt played most of the classics and, to be completely honest, I think I only started truly falling in love with JRPGs with the last few Like a Dragon games, mostly because of its characters and the hopeful vibes of the story. Having said that, I have played and enjoyed the NES Dragon Quest games and Mother 3. So, which one of these should I try?
- Breath of Fire III
- Breath of Fire IV
- Grandia
- Suikuden II
- Tactics Ogre
- Other game
I voted Grandia because itās hopeful and full of whimsy. Very much feels like a Dragon Quest to me.
this is challenging. Suikoden II and Tactics Ogre are GOATs, but the others are pretty good too
Suikoden 2 is better but breath of fire iv is maybe the best looking game of all time
I voted suikoden because you should play the saturn version of grandia! (with the english patch)
Now I feel like a chump for misspelling suikoden lol
Wow, yea. I need the Battle Against a Machine x B2b remix
My vote would be between what I voted and Suikoden II.
Started Suikoden II! Iām loving the combat system and the way recruitment works. Also, the game does a really good job in making you travel small distances back and forth to progress the story.
so iām almost done with playing octopath 2 and i think with finishing both octopath 1 and 2, iām going to need to start another rpg. iām stuck between a few options and i donāt know which ones to start first.
- Super Mario RPG Remake
- Mario & Luigi: Brothership
- Start on the Xenoblade series (no iāve never played them before)
- None of these are good options (feel free to suggest!)
feel free to help me decide!! i need a rpg thatās a big timesinker which is why i loved octopath; the grindiness helps with passing time and keeping me occupied.
Iāve picked up my Triangle Strategy save again, and have been having a blast. It can be grindy, but doesnāt have to be if you want that. Iāve found itās fun either way. I thought of it because it has a similar style to those Octopath games.
Also, Dragon Quest is always a great option.
I played an hour of brothership and I feel like you can safely rule that one out. Itās one of those Nintendo projects that uses two paragraphs to say āhit the a button to interactā and the battle system is super simple but you also canāt just mash through it. For me it was just not compelling.
I suggest going with Xenoblade Chronicles. You can start with the first game if you value chronology. The remaster of X is coming out in a few months, too, so you can also look forward to that.
the people recommending you play xenojunk crapticles are not to be trustedā¦
I know this is what you were going for but I really love how insulting nicknames for pro athletes and politicians are created by just inserting poop and fail words in there
Iāve really tried to like XBC. I played the whole first game (when I was younger and poorer and far less disposed to put down a game I wasnāt enjoying) and about 6 hours of XBC3. I cannot, for the life of me, find the fun in these games.
I put enough hours into Xenoblade Chronicles 3 to get to a significant narrative expansion and remember having a great time getting there. I had not ever played any Xenoblade and found traversal to be smooth and bouncy, and systems made clear enough for me to feel comfortable wandering around without tragic consequence. The spectacle and absurdity of the story has me interested enough to want to keep poking at it. It has a vibe I want to meet more in the middle on. I bounced off but itās a game that still rolls around my noggin.
