True… well here’s my SMB vans
Mario is a NARC but you know how it is. Hard out here for a gamer
Those socks are great too!
Also love this fat corduroy sonic adventure side bag I got to use as a neogeo pocket case, but has become my daily carry for my casual strolls / days off
I usually struggle with choosing what to wear and I end up with wearing the same things over and over again. So i’ve been curious about some of those wardrobe apps where you catalogue each item you own and can create outfits that way. For a long time i couldn’t found one that was not subscription based or free but probably sells your data. Sadly there isn’t an open source wardrobe app from what I can tell. I ended up going with one called Whering. I still don’t trust them very much but whatever. It is pretty fun! It took me like 2 hours to take pictures of most of my clothes but it was worth it. The app does a decent job of removing the background of your picture and then kinda detects what the item is. It struggled to classify like 20% of my clothes but it was alright. I quickly created some new outfits that I really like.
You can put together stuff on a canvas or there’s also like a rotating thing that you can randomize.
It’s like playing a dress up game but with my clothes!
woah that’s super neat
Ah yes, the ghost catwalk!
I don’t know where else to put this and it’s been sitting in a draft for days but here are tags I use in image search when I want to look at fashion I can’t currently afford: -alibaba -aliexpress -amazon -ardene -dhgate -etsy -ebay -pinterest -shopee -shein -temu -ubuy -walmart
That’s so interesting! This is maybe an artifact of me being such a very capital-b Basic millennial lady but Pinterest is still my favorite resource for if i need inspiration for an outfit or a new piece
I’ll find a look or vibe I like and then track down individual pieces to make it at a boutique or something
I think I tried using Pinterest once a long time ago for home decor or something and it didn’t take, so when I find myself on a Pinterest page with images that don’t lead anywhere unless I sign in? or because the links are broken or whatever the barrier is I just get frustrated and want all their links hidden lol. I also don’t know how useful it or that app @穴’s using would be for me as I more or less only wear black, but maybe I should try something and see for myself?
@穴 That’s so cool — Reminds me of the one from Clueless. Really like those outfits too!
@connrrr I like Pinterest (for the most part) — I use it mostly for drawing and design reference, though more recently I’ve been peaking at more fashion on there either for personal use or character design. There’s a lot of cool (less practical) high-fashion images on there (but creating a board for these has definitely led to them serving more products for sale in their search results).
It does tend to lock in on very specific things and keep serving those things without mercy. As a result, someone who, let’s say… wanted to design a clown character at some point… saved a single photo to a board… is persistently served clown inspired fashion… now has to devote more and more psychic resources to resist the eternal allure of surrendering to the clown realm with a complete wardrobe overhaul.
If clowncore speaks to you, you should listen!!(??) Become like Nana in Girl Juice.
Oh my god - you’re so right! Nana’s the perfect north star. it’s time to stop resisting.
Maybe I’ll start thinking about an outfit for rollerskate nights.
Hijacking this not video game thread to talk about a stupid video game thing (in my opinion). There’s a Japan-only PSP game called MyStylist and it’s one of few games to use the PSP camera
I just love the era when things that would later be apps were entire retail games complete with peripheral. It’s so charming.
Further fun fact, the dev team’s next project was Tokyo Jungle!
woah! last month i came extremely close to buying a psp camera and now i need one to have my wardrobe on my psp
