Very good series of shows. This one in particular clearly had a lot of love put into it.
i like this guy, heās got good vids (pretty sure i posted his gamefan series before)
never cared about dissidia, but this video makes me want to explore the psp.
but thatās something for the next life iām afraidā¦
Hereās a little shorty breaking down the adaptive music systems of Pikmin 3 and 4!
This video does such a great job illustrating the design of these systems ā Theyāre so clever!
The night air is getting coldā¦ thereās frost on the grass in the morningā¦ I am starting to think about no longer wearing shortsā¦ yepā¦ itās that time of year once againā¦ Hbomberguy is going to release another video soon
Shamelessly shouting out myself and Alicia here. Our latest video is a two and a half hour long deep dive into the funky Playstation gem Aquanautās Holiday. I think people on this site will have a blast with this one!
Would it be gauche to share my own work in this thread lol
not at all (especially considering @Kiki did it right above you lol).
we also have the Show me things you made. thread, but i think cross-posting is also okay.
This is one I made recently. Itās about Sonic the Hedgehog and trans joy.
enjoy!
This seems interesting! Iāll continue watching later but so far I want to say I love that you also included non-english reviews as examples for the reviewersā bewilderment at the time.
I feel a lot of video essays could benefit from acknowledging that there are more places in the world than the USA and Japan (and occasionally the UK).
Thanks, I had a lot of fun trying to find as many magazine excerpts as I could. I actually had quotes from even more languages, but sadly had no native speaking guests to read them. Oops!
I appreciated that touch of having native-speakers read the reviews ā I certainly noticed that the Hyper review was read by an Australian!
Iām so glad at least one person noticed that touch!
do i have to be goth, trans, and a dork to watch your videos? because only one (ā¦for certainā¦) of those adjectives describe me, and i still got something out of that video.
normally Iām like, super mario bros has been dissected and discussed to death, and the thumbnail is the exact kind of clickbaity crap I hate, but Iām really enjoying this one about smbās hitboxes, collision, physics, and overall game feel. sometimes this kind of video gets real technical and just kinda goes thru assembly code line by line or whatever, but this is pretty digestible and makes me appreciate the craft of the game more. and like yeah itās a classic for a reason but I just found another reason. maybe not huge news to like, actual game devs but as a hobbyist this was real educational
now youāre speaking my language! Gonna watch this in the morning
itās honestly pretty dang good, and the narrators donāt try and get all cute and youtube-wacky which I love lol. itās pretty straightforward and the humor when they include it is light
anyway the more I learn about super mario bros the more I am astounded with what they were able to pack into that game, on a default, standard, vanilla cart, with no additional memory mappers! I think I heard that the crew intended for it to be a showcase of what the famicom could do with like, stock hardware etc and itās bananas how much juice they squoze out of that fruit
