I jumped back into the original Diablo, as I found my CD of it and it still works on Windows 11! I got the 1.09 patch downloaded no issue. I never beat this game when I had it as a kid. I’ve reached Hell today. Hopefully I can finally beat it!
Loaded up the original Ghosts 'n Goblins today after realizing I never actually played it before. The arcade original, not any of the console ports. It’s cool! I spent a decent amount of time this year becoming good at both Castlevania: Rondo of Blood and Shadow of the Ninja Reborn, so I’d like to think I’ve got what it takes to become good at this one too. It definitely is harder than either of those though.
I like to head over to the park and bust out the good old hoop and stick
If only more people in the world touched grass then things would be better.
Today, the oldest game I’ve played is Chrono Trigger. My son likes to watch. We defeated the outer layer of Lavos today. Next session, we’re going to try to defeat the inner ones. He knows it’s a hard fight, because I tried doing it when he wanted me to before (before doing any side quests or the Black Omen) and we died in the first attack.
This month, the oldest game was chess. Oldest video game was a few minutes of Tapper.
After the wonderful Pandemonium Sega Saturn video about Touge R / High Velocity Racing. I have played that so 1995 game. Also Played Mario Galaxy recenlty.
I frequently boot up any old thing for a minute or two, but played properly:
Earlier this month I replayed Donald Duck’s Playground (1984) cause I wanted to start blogging a bit about games that were influential to me personally. (Shameless plug: Sam Derboo's Odditorium )
Last week I’ve replayed Götzendiener (1994). Game’s so unfinished it’s basically just a demo of itself but that also means you can get through it in less than an hour if you roughly know what you’re supposed to be doing.
Ongoingly I’m on Final Fantasy IX (2000), playing just a little bit every now and then when I feel like it (the original version, not the ugly upscaled release).
continuing my several times a week quest to see if there’s a third level in sonic the hedgehog 3
Chipping away Dragon Warrior IV nes.
you are the “shiny king”
playing Dragon Quest 1 (well, Dragon Warrior technically) right now, slowly. quite a lonely game.
I played Virtua Cop 2 briefly yesterday - not as good on controller as with a light gun. A few weeks back I was playing 1985’s Pit Pot (via the ‘87 PAL release).
SaGa 2 on that Game Boy. I’ve been on a slow but steady path towards SaGa enlightenment for a few years now and that’s where I am currently.
I’m not technically playing it yet, but I’ve been fiddling with character creation for a new crack at Dragon Age: Origins. I also saw Persona 3 Portable on sale for Switch last night, so I picked that up as well and will probably be playing it soon, if not today
My son and I are going to play some Parasol Stars together after he finishes playing Mario 64 on this chill Thanksgiving morning.
Been traveling with my Analogue Pocket and playing some Money Puzzle Exchanger (1997), Puzzle Bobble (1994), and started a new Breath of Fire 2 (1994) save.
The oldest game I’ve played was Boku no Natsuyasumi 2. I plan to continue playing this December or January, but I’m not in any kind of a rush to end it.
A few weeks about I played a couple hours of Linda^3 Again but really didn’t enjoy my time with it.
Last week, I starting Symphony of The Night because it’s been on my radar for most of my life as something I’d probably like… And I do like it!
But fuck Red Rust.
I’ve been playing the Aleste Collection a fair bit recently, got a 1CC in 1988’s Aleste/PowerStrike SMS a couple weeks ago. That’s as old as me!
