Insert Credit Forums Remake

November 2024
the new york body times

As November is no more, it’s time for the November issue of Insert Credit Forums Remake! In case you don’t remember what this is, it’s a monthly recap of the forum’s activities in the prior month, with some fun things thrown in as well. This one’s coming out a bit later than last month’s, as being a student, I’ve been too busy procrastinating papers to also procrastinate this. This issue saw help from FishHead and captain; thank you for your help!

Now, on with it!

ICFR Jams
~Songs to fall into and recover from an existential crisis to~

This month’s ICFR Jams playlist was put together by FishHead, who has this to say about it:
“A lot has happened this November. Politically, on the show, for many people personally. I’ve been in the very fortunate position to fall madly in love on November 1st, which made the rest of the month much more palatable than if that had not happened. I felt compelled, nonetheless, to at least somewhat model my emotional trajectory outside of romance in the form of this playlist. Most songs are taken directly from recommendations and posts on these here forums and others are directly related to games we had discussions about in one or several threads. The playlist starts off fun and hopeful, quickly deteriorates into dystopian spheres and crestfallenness, caused by the madness going on politically right now and leads us back to mental recovery through healing and a healthy dose of silly distraction.”

Forum Clubs

Last month, the Monthly Game Club played Factorio. The discussion seemed focused on how it wasn’t a game for everyone, but those who enjoyed it seemed to be quite into it. The forum’s resident ardent Factorio zealot Gaagaagiins wanted me to ensure everyone knew that he surpassed 200 hours in his most recent Factorio save, and hasn’t even finished the “Space Age” expansion content.

This month, the club will be playing Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong’s Double Trouble! The youngest and least respected of the Donkey Kong Country trilogy, Kiki thinks playing this game and assessing it on its own terms, independent of the series’ other games, might lead to a greater appreciation for it!

As well, a brand new club has opened this month, the IC Fishing Club! The club will meet weekly in a private Webfishing lobby to hang out, chat, fish, and have an overall chill time. Why not stop by?

Thread Spotlight

This month’s thread is the Exploring the Sega Saturn library in 2020 thread. It’s not 2020 anymore, but the thread grew into a general Saturn discussion thread, and this year, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the console, chazumaru wrote in-depth posts on various Saturn software for each day of the month! From Photo CDs to unreleased games to bad fighting games and other interesting subjects, chazumaru expressed their passion for the Saturn by sharing a wealth of Saturn knowledge with us, and that deserves spotlighting!

Gossip Corner

  • Rumors suggest that Garret.exe, despite their username, doesn’t use Windows… whether it’s Linux or macOS remains a mystery.

  • Trusted sources are hinting that Yuji Naka, perhaps in some mad act of revenge, or out of a yearning for company in his jail cell, is be plotting to frame Shigeru Miyamoto for a crime he did not commit so that he mignt be sent to prison. How does the Insert Credit forums play into this? The evidence will be planted in the “Is Mario a Republican” thread…

  • Whispers abound that a recent profile picture change has accidentally revealed the true identity of forum-goer pasquinelli to be beloved Scottish comedian Limmy. Some forum members suggest that the burden of proof is on pasquinelli to prove they aren’t Limmy.

If you know of any juicy goss you want featured in next month’s issue, please whisper it to one “NoJoTo” via a private channel of communication (such as a DM), away from all the curious, onlooking eyes of everyone else.

(Insert Credit Forums Remake takes no responsibility for any of the claims made in the “Gossip Corner”)

New Threads

This month: pizza, snow, and glitches.

The Conclusion

Well, that concludes the last issue of Insert Credit Forums remake for 2024! Thanks again to FishHead for making the wonderful ICFR Jams playlist, and to captain for helping me choose which thread to spotlight! If you want to help contribute to future issues, be that by writing, proofreading, making the next ICFR Jams playlist, brainstorming ideas, or even if you just want to lurk in another Insert Credit-adjacent Discord server, please join this server!
Now, before we can look forward to future issues in 2025, there’s just one more thing we need to decide…

Unofficial Mascot for the Month

Vibri, from Vib-Ribbon, won the position of unofficial mascot last month, beating out some princess, a shredder, and a fish. With a new month, however, comes a new set of contestants; who will win this month?

0 voters

If you want your pick in the next month’s installment, please DM (or otherwise privately contact me) the character whenever you want. It doesn’t have to be a video game-related character, just any character you think is befitting of being the forum’s unofficial mascot!

How am I supposed to vote for Shadow the Hedgehog against that kind of competition?

I won’t be commenting on the salacious rumors about me any further. My record speaks for itself.

I can’t believe I can’t vote for Shadow but that Gertsmann option is just too good
