Why do I fill up my tea cup to the brim every time

i say this and i have been the cause of some terribly close calls

i donā€˜t know why it embedded the prior tweet as well but iā€™m not going to argue.

@SharkyKrunk#1299 oh hey thatā€˜s a pretty cool idea. I bet I could swing that. Plus, itā€™s fancy that way.

@nickfourtimes I enjoyed the gamers tweet even if water was the goal

You win: _PERFECT!_

heck, good luck bringing that one anywhere!!!

Also in the evaporates camp. But just because I always forget I have a tea on.

What do you do if you wait too long with the evaporation and it's just cold, then :/

Get yourself a sweet tea pot so you can have more tea in one trip to the kettle. I donā€˜t know how easy it is to get these in the US, but the Bodum tea press is great. You can make a big pot of tea and then press the plunger to prevent further brewing so it doesnā€™t stew!

Don't forget to get a little milk jug to take with you as well.

Hmm, itā€˜s not a bad idea really. I had a tea pot but it was too fancy and small so I donated it somewhere. Iā€™ll look into it!

Mot of my teapots have strainers in so you can just take the leaves out, so that's a good option too.

@exodus#2094 I just add extra sugar :0

Sometimes I leave extra tea out so I can rink cold tea in the morning~

I guess one of the weird things about my situation is thereā€˜s not much loose leaf tea sold that I can drink, because I stopped being able to process caffeine. So no matter what Iā€™m using tea bags unfortunately!

@exodus#2145 my favourite place to go in the UK for tea has quite a range, this is my go to late night decaf tea - https://imperialteas.co.uk/assam-naturally-decaffeinated-black-tea maybe you could find something similar in the US?

you know, I guess I havenā€˜t been searching online that much. Iā€™m gonna do it!!!

I was in a cafe last week and the guy poured my hibiscus tea ABSOLUTELY to the brim. The brim was making out with my tea.

I successfully brought it back to my table but it was one of those hip cafes where all the decor is mismatched antiques and just old stuff so the table, naturally, wobbled. I sat down, tapped the leg with my foot, and this deoxygenated blood-red mess went all over it. When I got everything cleaned up and sat down to enjoy what had not spilled, it almost looked like a sensible human being had poured it to a comfortable level.

I make my coffee by the cup via a ceramic pour-over maker and used to have a problem where Iā€˜d occasionally overfill it and it would spill over. I solved this by getting a small digital scale and now I know exactly how many grams of water to pour so that itā€™s a good level. I use it to measure my beans before grinding too. SCIENCE STYLE.

@ā€œNemoideā€#p106916 I use a kitchen scale to measure my oatmeal at breakfast! Very useful!!

@ā€œconnrrrā€#p106915 sounds like the solution to overpouring is simply to spill it and clean it upā€¦good intel

For Christmas I treated myself to a fancy espresso machine and milk steamer so I can make cappuccinos at home. I rarely have the talent to guess how much milk to pour into those thermal glass mugs until its too late.

The only glass that should be filled above the brim are pint glasses in a british pub. for some reason those never spill.

Do you not just immediately drink some of the tea and burn your lips so you can carry itā€¦?
