He looks nice. What’s his name?
I hope people are able to do something cool with the leaked source codes.
I’ve been sitting here on the floor of the post office since 11am. It is now 3:24 pm.
Anyways look at these stats.

I’m getting too into TCG Pocket.
70 hours in johto before going to the Pokémon league, with only 1 overnight rapid fire game corner roulette session adding a false 8 hours.
I will have a few things to say about Gold / Silver before this is over. For example the difficult curve is too subtle for DAi Pa Kidzu to understand and appreciate. It’s really subtle but it encourages you to switch up your team members when they reach level 30.
I don’t pay any attention to new cards, but these are pretty good, especially the nidoking. almost like the original water color style. What is this “151 set” you speak of?
Here’s the copy from the site:
“The Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet—151 expansion includes all 151 Pokémon originally discovered in the Kanto region. Look back at the Pokémon that started it all as you browse the card artwork in this set.”
You can look at them all here!
I also don’t pay much attention but I saw that Nidoking card around and had to find out where it was from
This is incompatible with capitalism, but I’d love to just have a full HD-scanned collection of all gen 1-3 cards in english and japanese on my hard drive.,
Kinda obsessed with those Scarlet & Violet 151 cards! Unfortunately they seem to cost an arm and a leg here in Germany. They’re still not necessarily cheap in japan but definitely much cheaper than around these parts.
Hiya IC pokemon thread! I haven’t posted here yet but I’m a big series fan.
I’ve been playing a lot of TGC Pocket and think I’m probably done with the competitive part of it.
The deck size limitations (20 cards), the no energy cards in the deck, plus the way the game automatically gives you a basic pokemon in your opening hand (and doesn’t force you to re-draw and give your opponent an advantage if you don’t draw one like the paper game) really limits what cards are good and really influences what makes a good deck.
A good deck in this game is going to have as few pokemon as possible, with one very strong basic pokemon that has some way to either sweep immediately or set up a sweeper within a few turns.
That’s fine, except that you basically end up with your win condition in your opening hand 50% of the time, as these decks will run 50/50 split of their feeder card or their setup card (Think Mewtwo EX or Moltres EX) – and there’s zero penalty to doing this. There’s no risk of not drawing a basic, there’s no risk of drawing filler cards as everything is either fuel or a minor delay (like a potion).
I feel this severely limits what they can do in future expansions or cards to alter the meta. If you try to go with a more elaborate setup, or some kind of disruption deck (like Gengar EX) it just wont work. The opponents start the game with their winning setup and whoever has a better opening hand generally wins. You can come back, but strategic decisions seem really limited.
I’ll keep playing to see how they adjust it, and it’s still a lot of fun, but I think it might need a format change in order to allow the game to mature more. Does anyone have any other thoughts here? I’m still having fun but seeing the limitations that make the game more compatible with mobile really keeping them back in the future.
I think you’ve nailed it.
Also, those EX decks tend to take over the PvP games. I’ve been trying to use different combinations, but the limitations you’ve described mean I’m less likely to win.
Interested to see what new cards they eventually bring in. Also trading is supposed to start in the new year.
Yeah I definitely agree, when two top-tier meta decks run into eachother, there’s little room for a comeback. Recently, I’ve been running an Arcanine deck with a pair of Hypno which will often let me eek-out a win against the most powerful decks by abusing sleep coin flips, but it’s definitely not as consistent as just running Mewtwo EX or Starmie EX. My hope is that they introduce more Supporter and Item cards like in the main TCG. Not having a way to search-out evolved Pokemon (such as with Pokemon Communication or Ultra Ball) has made basic EX cards the only reliable way to play.
I’ve been playing with the Team Rocket deck (Weezing and Arbok) and it works pretty good for a deck without any EX cards.
