The thing thatās so hard about turning forty is it forces you to take-a stock of how youāre doing. And, to be honest, Iām-a not doing so great. These days, my life, itās-a fucked up. Like, thereās just a lot of super-heavy shit that Iām-a dealing with right now. I guess the best way to explain it is-a to start from the beginning of last week, which is when shit really started to get-a, like, super fucked up.

Counterpoint: Lots of conservatives pretend to be tolerant, or truly believe they are tolerant, or are tolerant on an individual, face-to-face basis, but still materially support systemic intolerance, since a lot of that is laundered through superficially wellmeaning social policy, or itās just how overall economic wet blanketism indirectly contributes to exacerbating social intolerances and stress points.
Maybe this is less pronounced down south but Canadian conservatism is I think often like this, or at least was until more recently when American style fash-lite populism infected the Canadian conservative hive mind more in more recent times They didnāt want to look like weirdo freak psychopaths too publicly so theyād say nice sounding things to media while subtly undermining socially progressive stuff in the background. Stephen Harper was like thatāhe got recognized for saying publicly he wouldnāt go after abortion if elected and didnāt want to re-open the abortion debate, only for the party to slip in things that impeded access to abortion or even petty shit like being against Dr. Henry Morgentalerās recognition with the Order of Canada.
Mario being curious does make him sound a little more open to othersā ideas, even if the main things heās curious about are pipes and shrooms. Him bashing his head into things to find out whatās in them may indicate a different kind of problem though.
