Is Mario a Republican??? (longest forum thread ever)

Mario is a republican, but Dr. Mario is a democrat. Still has a “I'm with her” sticker on his Mercedes S-class.

I suspect dr mario is also a republican. middle aged american physicians are not exactly che guevaras. Also the fact that he pushes those weird pills as hard as he does means he could be one of those unscrupulous docs who takes brooklyn nets courtside seats from a pharma vendor or whatever

@“yeso”#p79889

Newsflash: Dr Mario, beloved physician, caused the opioid epidemic.

The M on his hat doesn't stand for Mario.

M = market-based solutions

mods time to lock the thread. debate getting too heated

@“edward”#p79800 I would like to know what Edward Said had to say about a comment like this!

More like... what Edward Hadtosay said about a comment like this... gottem

I agree that Dr.Mario is a separate person with a separate social security number and therefore voter registration from Mario. What‘s up for debate is his politics. Doctor Mario doesn’t seem like the modern Doctorate of Medicine who over prescribes. He seems more like the idolization of doctoring from the early century prior, from before big pharma took over the nation.

Doctor Mario is also the most “daddy” of any mario.

If there's one thing liberals want its sea turtles to be treated as humans. (also note it is a blue pill. looking very lefty loosey)

if mario is not a right winger, why does he gain an “extra life” when he collects enough coins (aka money)? He doesnt spend it on anything, just hordes coins to extend his own life

What if he's gaining life in the act of consuming and thus destroying the coins? as per the Mushroom Kingdom's transition into a moneyless, classless society

@“Gaagaagiins”#p79991

that's called

### Demonitization

and it's a real future

@“Gaagaagiins”#p79991 I think we should remember what Marx says about the accumulation of money, among many other sayings I could have picked:

>

The less you eat, drink and buy books; the less you go to the theatre, the dance hall, the public house; the less you think, love, theorise, sing, paint, fence, etc., the more you save – the greater becomes your treasure which neither moths nor rust will devour – your capital. The less you are, the less you express your own life, the more you have, i.e., the greater is your alienated life, the greater is the store of your estranged being.

>!Try to ignore how I've accidentally presented Karl Marx like he's posting somewhere on this forum.!<

@“Video_Game_King”#p79994 damn this is why I don't read marx. he thinks you have to spend money to live a life worth living?? spending money = think, love, theorise, sing?? lame, this is why demonetization is important. nowadays and with the internet and computers we can do all these things without spending resources!

@“treefroggy”#p79999 i think he‘s talking about what we now call work/life balance, not just spending money. thinking, loving, theorising, singing etc for many people are things that don’t mesh together well with working constantly/making money

@“treefroggy”#p79999 I think what Marx is talking about here is how the accumulation of money/capital represents a greater degree of hoarded lost life, the implication being that that's when capitalists accumulate excess capital, not when anyone generally has money. Not that you have to spend money to live a life worth living, but that capitalism commodifies such worthwhile life experiences, and thus gatekeeps them behind having to spend money to access them.

It's a greater complicated thing to explain but within the context of Marxist economics, capital isn't just a synonym for money or currency.

All this talk of Marx would drive Mario into paroxysms of violence against turtles
