I don’t know but I have this feeling that Geoff would use his thickest Daddy’s Money Voice to intimidate anyone even thinking about doing so into silence. Like you know how corpotalk says things without ever actually saying things? Surely Geoff has that skill
as well he should. Tonight is not about politics, it’s about honoring the people who make games, the gamers who play games, and also about the games themselves

I feel like anybody at TGAs with the political inclinations to mention something like that aren’t American and therefore wouldn’t.
Edit: My boss and I have been passing each other headlines from TGAs past and I just saw one from me that I have NO recollection of writing or why I would even write it. And it’s tempting me to make a thread (or link here) of my best “how high were you?” headlines form previous game awards.

imo Ragnarok narratively speaking felt to me like it was trying to do too much in too little time, I hate that I’m going to say this but just in terms of dramatic pacing overall it could have been a trilogy

Honestly problematic opinion and not to go all Menswear Guy on the forum here but I think t-shirt and blazer is actually a pretty good fit, assuming lots of things about the T-shirt and blazer anyway. Like it’s better if it’s not a sport jacket blazer and something more like a tweed blazer, and a whole lot hinges on how cool the t-shirt is. Like off the top of my head I can’t think of anything less cool than say a Geoff Keighley type wearing a blazer over a fuckin Banjo Kazooie shirt or some shit.
But also I think it is an odious look when it’s clearly being worn in such a way as to sub in for more formal wear, like, intentionally dressing down while still also trying to appear as if you are dressed in a direction is so tacky ykwim

I put the official livestream on and it’s just like what sounds like Emotional Videogame Cutscene Music. And the captions are just going

I can’t hear it loop but honestly I actually wish that this composition was AI generated, and they didn’t pay some composer somewhere to churn out Spiderman game music that is oscillating back and forth between 80% emotional swell and 100% emotional swell for like an hour
Could not disagree more. 2018 was such a tightly paced narrative. Ragnarok alternatively dragged and then rushed past the good stuff.
