Thanks for letting us know. Does it behave the same way with a smaller hidden text box or just very long ones?
Small ones don’t really take up enough room for me to be able to tell the difference.
I don’t see a lot of collapsed text boxes around here really, so I haven’t noticed it happening until these long posts from Kiki.
Taking a guess this is bigger than a standard summary box
How did this one work? As for me it worked exactly as you described.
Always good to know where it’s working!
I will have a proper investigation later to find out more. I am head chef today and need to make sure I don’t use English cooking skills…
This one works as it should for me.
Ok, so I did a quick check, and it looks like it’s only happening for me if it’s the most recent (i.e. bottom) post in a thread.
After some testing I get the same behaviour both on phone and desktop. I don’t know if it’s a bug or by design but will investigate more tomorrow.
Sorry for causing so much trouble.
I’ve had a look into this problem and can’t find anything where other forums are having the same behaviour. Our version of Discourse is due an update, which I will run in a few hours and after that keep trying it out to see if it continues. I couldn’t find anything in the new commits for it, but would rather update fully and then submit a bug to them so
Duplicate test - as first post seems to behave same as before, jumping to the last part of the hidden text/images. If someone can try this and reply confirming if it’s the same please, then can put together a bug report for Discourse.

Have posted on the discourse forum to confirm if this is working as expected or an actual bug:
Hopefully find an answer soon.
An update to say Discourse are talking about it here: Hide Details going to end of hidden details automatically - #8 by Moin - Bug - Discourse Meta
Anyone who’s seeing this, could you try and follow the example of how the position of the cursor and the post may effect how the box opens? I have and sometimes notice a change to how it opens, so maybe this is something that cannot be fixed.
You’re probably aware (or it doesn’t matter since it’s been resolved), but popped one of these just a few minutes ago on both desktop and mobile:
There was an update a few minutes ago - I think it was just bad timing on when you viewed the page.
All seems good now.
Just an update on the hide text issue: Hide Details going to end of hidden details automatically - #16 by sam - Bug - Discourse Meta
They’re discussing it there and looks like a change may happen. Will keep everyone updated when it’s pushed.
What happened to the Patreon members group? Only 87 left?
I know I’m still a subscriber, but my group membership and flair are gone. Is this something that is being phased out?
Also, it says “pattern”
Not entirely sure from my end. The group data isn’t an accurate way to check - for example it says 12 trust_level_4 users, when you look into it there are no members.
I have checked the patreon groups and something has changed, not entirely sure what but will find out. Your account is still associated with your patreon id but for some reason that isn’t reflecting in the grouping. May need a resync but will keep you posted.
Normal service will resume shortly. Ish.
Edit - I have found out the problem, but can’t fix it yet. There’s an issue with memers levels and groups, so will check a few bits out and be sure. I had you back in the group, then it went again. Need to be sure why.
fwiw, that number will never be accurate anyway – there’ll always be people like me: I have patreon configured to not make public who I subscribe to, and I use a different email there than I do to log in to my account here so they’ll never match up anyway
If you are a Patreon, that data is locked into your accounts on the forum if set up that way. The group is only based on linked accounts. However right now the group isn’t working right but nothing behind the scenes on our side has changed, just what the group says. This is a third party plug in (one I am not familiar with) but will look into it and work out what’s happened now I have a better idea of the root cause.
