Not sure where to put this, but it’s good to be back! Thank you everyone who put in all the time and energy into getting this forum transferred to Discourse and sorting all of the moving boxes. I’m happy to help out with editing my threads (all 1) and posts, but please reach out if there’s anything else I can lend a hand with.
This is bottom of the urgency barrel, but when trying to change my email or add a secondary I get this response when I put in a gmail address.
“Email is not allowed from that email provider. Please use another email address.”

Just a big fat thanks to everyone who worked on getting us all migrated over here, and a celebratory post for something I’ve always wanted: we can now search keywords in individual threads and I am loving that. Thank you, bye forever

The mods and owners and the webmaster are beautiful people and as cranky as I am that it’s different from poking around in it already and seeing what it can do, I’m sure after an adjustment period the forums will only be better and better. Thank you as always for all the hard work.

There’s settings in your profile to change how many emails are sent https://forums.insertcredit.com/u/me/preferences/emails You can even set it to none.

There’s a limit of 20 bookmarks per day, but I’ve set it to 50 for the next week.

Is it possible to have mobile format on desktop browser? Mobile format is much cleaner and easier to parse to me.

Do you mean this view?
You can collapse the side menu with the button in the top left. But putting the menu next to the profile icon as a drop down option is a global setting that we’d have to change for everyone. I can investigate if there is a way to do it per user when I have some time. But my understanding is it would apply it to everyone.
On mobile browser you can choose mobile or desktop format. Maybe you can enable this on desktop browser?

So if you press the plus symbol there you can make your own custom menu with links for desktop and mobile view. For example I made this one just to show you. Clicking on either of these (then refreshing) will switch to desktop or mobile view on any device.

I’ve given up on trying to edit my old posts for now because of how it breaks the images. Hopefully a fix can be found. I’m reluctant to use the feature that uploads images to the forum itself because I assume that will greatly increase the amount of data the forum is sending out and so also the hosting costs. Is this a realistic concern? I know very little about how websites work.

My work filter has apparently blocked these forums, for some reason. Not the main Insert Credit site, but forums.insertcredit.com. So I’ll be around less.
We have around 250GB worth of file hostage for $5 a month. We can easily add more for the same cost as necessary. So I don’t think you have to be worry about hosting costs. If it becomes a concern in future I’ll be sure to let everyone know.

Either way, there’s still a burning yearning within me, to share weird video game stuff no one else cares about, and I’ve been backed up the past few days while I was going through old photos for other reasons lol.
