Dragon Quarter’s cover is synonymous with Radiata Stories for me. Just a surprisingly honest depiction of what the characters are going to look like in game.
Yeah, I think the Dragon Quarter NA art is what PS2 box art should look like. I remember a big part of what sold me on .Hack was a blown-up close-up of the protagonist’s 3D model on the back of the box for volume one. It tells you “here are the characters you are going to be spending time with in the game” and trusts you to decide whether or not you like them.
(Also I’m pretty sure it’s not rings – it’s a single spiral of light winding around them, like they’re being tied up by some magical rope. I’ve never played it so I have no idea if that’s some in-game spell or something.)
I wonder if anyone has ever tried to make a D&D party based off of the five characters in the NA Suikoden cover. I see wizard, fighter, sorcerer, cleric, and a noble-background character who could be a few classes (maybe fighter, maybe bard, maybe even barbarian).
