Thanks, much appreciated! Yeah, I’ve seen a let’s play of the game and definitely intend to play it myself eventually! I liked the idea of letting the player create their own cards and combining different meanings and how that affects dialogue.
A pretty cool system and game in general. Definite autumn cozy vibes!
My much more simple and minimal designs are mostly a direct result of my limited skills and experience, haha. But I think that’s actually part of the reason why I’ve recently been more productive creatively. I have tried to let go of my usual perfectionism and instead lean into my limitations and work with them. And while I’m no graphic designer all of a sudden, the results turned out better than I imagined they would. Seems like that’s a much healthier attitude!
hey, all! I just published a game as a part of the interactive fiction competition this year, and it’s out now!
This game literally wouldn’t exist if not for insert credit. I originally started working on this project based on a Twine club prompt in the forums month ago. I was proud of the direction the project was taking, and I tinkered with it over the year until it was ready to release. It’s a small, simple thing, but I’m happy with it.
Please play other games in the competition, too! It looks like there are a lot of cool entries this year. If you play my game and decide you want to be a judge (anyone can!), give my game whatever score you think it deserves, even if that’s a 1! I want results to be as fair as possible.
I very much relate to that. Finding ways to keep my perfectionism at bay so I can let myself enjoy and go through the process has been very important in me being able to get anything done creatively.
Things have been pretty hectic for me lately but they’re finally starting to cool down. Some of those things included participating in game jams! One was a Touhou game jam in which I made three (!!!) soundtracks in two weeks. It’s been a long time since I arranged music from other games, so it was nice to think from this kind of angle again. A compilation of those can be found here:
And most recently was the GMTK game jam, which I’m sure most will be familiar with. The music I made for that one can be found here:
I’m pretty happy with this work I’ve done, especially considering the tight deadlines of them all. Though I’m definitely ready to start slowing down on stuff again lol
@sabertoothalex I’m hoping to do some small riso prints for the shop to give out during the fair. I don’t have a ton of experience with color layering, so I’m excited to experiment with that a bit.
I just finished doing the pencil pass on the first chapter of the comic I’ve been working on for the past however. I scanned all the pages yesterday and I’m gonna start digitally inking everything.
This is a story I’ve had rattling around in my head for over a decade so seeing it finally come to some sort of fruition has been exhilarating.
I’ll post the full thing once it’s ready, but here’s a couple pages since I’m too excited to not share it. :D
