Snow Time 2023 (Southern Hemisphere Do Not Interact (jk))

@“Gaagaagiins”#p97345 we need to get some ugly snow and slush in here eventually! Show em what it's all about!!

@“connrrr”#p97377 never thought i'd see a snowman standing on its head

@“exodus”#p97346 now THAT is some rock and roll

Probably the most snow I‘ve ever seen out there this morning. It’s almost surreal. I always forget how quiet everything becomes when there‘s a big layer of snow that hasn’t been cleared off the roads yet.

I feel like things get a little goofy when it snows, especially here where we're not that used to it. All sorts of wacky mysteries abound.

There was a car the other day that somehow beached itself on a low median, all four wheels off the ground like it was on a display stand or something. i guess they couldn't see it was there, but also I have no idea what they were trying to do because there's no left turn or anything nearby.

We got about 4cm of snow yesterday and I thought it was cold at -25 C when I went out to An appointment, but then it dropped to -33 C overnight with snow blowing everywhere! If I go outside at all today I’ll try and take a snow photo.

Can’t compare with some of the posts here quantity wise, but I’m here to share some dock snow and some beach snow. [upl-image-preview url=https://i.imgur.com/wKf1oRF.jpeg]

It’s hard to see but it’s there I promise!

The forecast early in the week was predicting up to 9inches of snow last night, with extremely cold temperatures and wind chill. We got some snow, and the majorly cold temperatures (for us at least). Colorado Front Range report for today!

Temps are hovering around -12 to -14F with windchill right now, and we maybe have 3-3.5inches of snow. I don't wanna shovel my driveway/sidewalk in these temps I tell you.

The framing on this makes it look like an outline of an invisible house. Looks v cool

||Also supremely jealous of you living on the corner of Gay street.||

@“fetus8”#p97920 I was like dude, how is your sky so purple??? But I figured it out.

@“connierad”#p97932 I was going to say the same spoilered thing

@"BluntForceMama"#p97884 I like seeing this dock snow because:

  • - I can relate to docks and rocky beaches
  • - I have never seen snow on a dock
  • so! that's cool for me

@“connierad”#p97932 the Gay Street sign being on my property was a huge determining factor for this house.

    @connierad check it out!!

@“connrrr”#p98571 omg I love it!!! Where'd you find that?

    @“connrrr”#p98571 Shirts that go hard

@“connierad”#p98603 a friend passing through town picked it up for me! I'll ask who she got it from, because I might want another lol.

Colorado got slammed with a bunch of wet snow on Wednesday night. It was pretty gross and thick. I only got 4-5in, my parent’s 20 miles north of me got 6in and some places around us got almost a foot!

Been warmer than it usually is this time of year, but the community outdoor rink is finally set up! Nice going for walks while it’s not -30!

We’ve had a few days of what gets called “fog” locally but what I suspect is what gets called “freezing fog” in warmer places: at ‘warmer’ temps like -10C, a kind of ambient misty ice that coats everything with frost. This is a view across my neighbour’s yard.

Tried to go cross country skiing yesterday, thinking it would be nice and snowy up the mountain, but when we got to the top it was around 0 and just pelting with rain, which combined with a miserable fog made us drive back down the mountain and go to Denny's where we ate like 2000 calories each, and then watched Destroy All Monsters while eating candy canes. Truly the day went about as opposite to expectations as is possible.

    @“yeso”#p89245 this is a prime “what’s up it’s 26 C (80 F) in January” bragging thread.
