Thereās a new fan mod for the PC version that fixes a bunch of stuff, has a ton of optional features in a new ini, and has higher res UI textures. The key thing this does over the previous FXT mod that was around is it uncouples framerate from your monitorās refresh rate. Before if I kept my monitor at 120hz+ it would run the game at double speed basically, impossible to play. So I had to manually set it to 60hz to fix this and then switch it back after. A small annoyance but still, a bit of friction that made me not want to play the game as often as I otherwise would lol.
Anyway I played some races with this new mod and itās amazing! And reminder that the PC version is abandonware and you can maybe click around to just download it if thatās your thing idk!!!
I seriously canāt believe how good this mod or whatever is. Makes it so much better than the FXT mod and IMO even cinches out the Lindbergh version too!
PS. Richard Jacques is Sega, yes? Stumbled across this very randomly while going down a Wikipedia synthesizer hole:
he was on contract but he did a lot of important sega music and helped form their late 90s sound - sonic R, sonic 3D blast, metropolis street racer, etc. he continues to have a relationship with them now but doesnāt work for them directly.
